The Well offers a safe environment where all are welcome and all are free to ask our questions and find our way into the future that together we are creating.

The Well Spirituality Center is a community that fosters an awakening to our Unity with the Divine, One Another, and all Creation. Recognizing that all is one, we provide opportunities to grow a deeper understanding of ourselves, a spiritual community of belonging and action, and an appreciation for our place and our part as agents of healing in the unfolding Universe Story.

The Story of The Well
The Well Spirituality Center, founded in the year 2000, is born out of the mission and charism of the Congregation of St. Joseph, That all May be One. Our programs, retreats and gatherings reflect our belief in this ideal. Our work reflects the importance of integral ecology, the charism of the Congregation of St. Joseph, the Arts and creating a sacred space to build community.
Looking for a gathering space for family, friends, or co-workers for a day or more to host conferences, meetings, trainings, programs, days of reflection or retreats?
The Well offers spaces for intimate and large groups (3 to 60) as well as private overnight retreats with spiritual direction.
The Well has 20 guest rooms with private baths. Each room has a twin bed, desk, dresser, closet and easy chair.
Individual/Group Overnight Stay: Three meals per day are included.
History of the Congregation of St. Joseph
The Sisters of St. Joseph were founded in 1650 when six women began meeting in a small kitchen in Le Puy, a small town in the south of France. These six women had a common desire to grow in their love of God and serve the unmet needs of the people around them, whom they called their dear neighbors. Under the spiritual direction of a Jesuit priest named Jean Pierre Medaille, they formed the first community of Sisters of St. Joseph.
In 2025, the congregation celebrated the 375th anniversary of its founding with joy, reverence, and humility, recognizing all the sisters who came before on whose shoulders we stand, their ministries and many contributions to the world. They also celebrated with and recognize the current sisters, associates, ministries, and partners in mission who continue this legacy of service today.
