A Three Day Retreat where you will immerse yourself in a gently guided intuitive creative process of painting your own portal to your future self. Learn how art can be medicine.
Art Medicine TM is a healing practice for life’s distractions, overwhelm and dis-ease. Through painting, you’ll allow a deep dive into your being to gain perspective and fresh insights into your place in the universe. You’ll travel a non-linear transit to the past to imagine your future, and upon returning, re-engage with your present reality with renewed purpose, guided by the wisdom of your envisioned future self. You will identify what wants healing, what wants attention, and let it flow from your soul through your paintbrush onto the canvas. There it will evolve though a series of layers to your authentic self. Your art will bring your spirit home. You’ll feel energy and anticipation around this adventure. You’ll tune into this energy and set your intention that will become your guiding star on this journey.
Format: In-Person at The Well | The facilitator will be in person.
Facilitator: Ann L Viernes DHSc
Dr. Ann Viernes developed a love for nature and art early on. She pursued science and art, studying biology at DePaul University and working in laboratory medicine and healthcare for over 40 years. She earned her Doctorate in Health Sciences (DHSc) from Rush University in 2009. After retiring, she followed her dream of becoming an artist, traveling and taking courses in painting and jewelry.
In 2020, Dr. Viernes participated in an online Summer Solstice Retreat by Woman Unleashed, which inspired her to open Purple Sun Arts LLC in Oak Park, IL. This space offers art, a boutique, and a creative learning center. She is a Certified Cosmic Smashbook™ Guide, a Cosmic Transformational Life Coach, and a certified Art Medicine™ Practitioner.
As a multimedia artist, she teaches gel monoprinting, art journaling, and offers transformational life coaching. Her workshops focus on healing through art, creating layered portal paintings. Her artwork includes acrylic, ink, watercolor, collage, and objects from nature. She also curates work from other artists, fostering a community of creativity and healing.
