On Saturday, April 6, 2019, after facilitating a hope-filled workshop “Conversations That Matter” Terry Patten was presented with the Sacred Universe Award at The Well Spirituality Center. The award, given annually since 1993, recognizes leaders in the field whose work and life fosters mutually enhancing relationships between Earth and humans. The Award was first presented to Thomas Berry in 1993 by John Surette, SJ and Mary Southard, CSJ, and continues to be given through The Well Spirituality Center to this day. Mary and John initiated the Sacred Universe Award to honor the recipient, and to renew them and all those who gather to celebrate with them, in their commitment to this difficult and great work.
Terry Patten is a philosopher, author, activist, social entrepreneur, consultant, coach, and the author of the groundbreaking book, A New Republic of the Heart: An Ethos for Revolutionaries. As a philosopher-activist, he has long been a leading voice for facing, examining, and healing our global crisis through the marriage of higher consciousness and activism. As creator and host of the webcast “Beyond Awakening,” he has explored the biggest questions of our time in over a hundred public conversations with some of the world’s most prominent and dynamic thought leaders. And, as a teacher and coach, he has introduced thousands of people to Integral Practice in person and over the web where he created and taught the online courses, Integral Spiritual Practice, Living the Integral Heart, An Integral Soul Journey, and Awakening Your Revolutionary Heart. He has helped hundreds of people activate a transformative practice, realize awakened consciousness, and discover and fulfill their life purpose.
