Hope at the Crossroads

Online Community

Do you find yourself in a time of transition or loss, standing at the threshold between the past and an unknown future? Have you lost hope given recent world events? This is what it means to be in “liminal” space and at the crossroads of hope.

In this online community we will reflect individually and collectively on five themes:

Creating Our Online Community
Exploring Liminal Space & Crossroads
Accepting What Is
Letting Go of What Was
Having Faith in What Will Be.

We will build our community through online dialogue and biweekly Zoom meetings. For each theme, there will be time in the first week to reflect on and respond to online content, suggested practices, and conversation prompts on your own and then by engaging in online dialogue with others. This will prepare us for coming together for deeper conversation during Zoom sessions in the second week (dates and times determined based on who is in the community). The facilitator will open the online platform and invite participants to orient themselves to its use after the registration deadline.

Facilitator: Dr. Patricia (Pat) Bombard, BVM

Dr. Patricia (Pat) Bombard, BVM has served at DePaul University since 2008 as director of a leadership development project. All her teaching and training in leadership is influenced by her passionate interest in the integration of insights drawn from spirituality, psychology, feminism, and ecology grounded in The Universe Story. Pat first encountered The Universe Story in 1993 while on retreat with Mary Southard, CSJ, and John Surette, SJ, at their Boston retreat center, SpiritEarth. She later introduced The Universe Story and the Cosmic Walk designed by Miriam Therese MacGillis to the faculty and participants at The Institute for Spiritual Leadership, where she served as executive director from 1994 to 2006. She served for many years on the board of directors of Allium and The Well and is a member of Sisters of Earth.
