Earth Day from Down Under:
A presentation by Sally Neaves and Margie Abbott, rsm

Thursday, April 30, 7-8 PM CST

Continuing our celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we invite you to spend an evening focused on ecology and eco-spirituality with our friends in Australia.

Sally Neaves, Eco-education Coordinator at the Rahamim Ecology Centre, will present insights on the global climate crisis, and how communities can respond.

Margie Abbott, rsm, author of the newly-released Cosmic Sparks, a book of rituals for Creation Centered Spirituality, will round out the presentation with ritual.

The evening will include short “break out rooms,” a chance to share with others around the world.

Sally Neaves works with the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea for Earth advocacy, spirituality and education. In 2019, she was trained by Al Gore to become a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps and now delivers numerous presentations to communities around Australia on the climate crisis and solutions.

Margie Abbott is a Sister of Mercy based in Geelong, with qualifications in education, spirituality, theology, facilitation and psychodrama. She leads ecospirituality retreats, is a Laudato Si animator, and has worked with groups nationally and internationally. Margie highly values inner independence, the contemplative stance and active hope for a healing world.
