Dear Friend of The Well,
I like to say, I grew up at The Well. I was first introduced to the Congregation of St. Joseph through an “At Home Retreat” offered at my parish. I was in my late 30s and thus began my being nurtured into the CSJ Charism, and the mission of the Well through The Universe Story. A dozen or so years later I was invited to consider working for The Well. I began in February of 2009, the same month I turned 50.
February 2, 2024, marked the 15th anniversary of my work with The Well. These past 15 years have been a blessing for me. Each and everyone of you have contributed to making it so. The community that gathers around the mission of The Well is deep and rich and full of love. The Well is truly making a difference in the world through the consciousness that has awakened in us, as individuals and as a community.
15 years ago, it was clear to me that The Spirit was leading me into leadership in this ministry. Now, having recently celebrated my 65th birthday, I hear that same Spirit calling me into new ways of being in service to the Holy. Gratitude fills me. I have loved leading, teaching and journeying with each of you on this shared spiritual path, and that reality makes this message a bittersweet one.
I plan to retire from my position at The Well, effective June 3, 2024. I have known and continue to know that God wants to be made manifest through the work of The Well and the Well community. I trust that with your continued support, Evelyn, Roberta and those yet to join the staff, will continue the good work that began before my arrival, and will continue beyond my departure. I will always treasure my time and the contributions I was able to offer to this ministry. I leave with a plethora of beautiful memories. It has been an honor to serve The Well. Please know that each of you will always be near and dear to my heart.
In the warm words of e. e. cummings, “i carry your heart, i carry it in my heart.”
With much love and gratitude,
Bridget
