Philosopher, teacher, activist, consultant, social entrepreneur, and author — Terry Patten will lead a workshop on Saturday April 6 at The Well Spirituality Center in LaGrange Park. Sharing ideas from his latest book, A New Republic of the Heart, Patten will discuss the current global meta-crisis in all its aspects—environmental, economic, political, and cultural. Over the course of the day-long workshop participants will explore the difficult, necessary, creative, and ultimately rewarding work in which we must engage in order to meaningfully address our most “wicked” problems. Hopeful and inspirational, the day promises to provide new views of an inclusive vision of community, public service and cultural transformation.
Also on April 6 Patten will be presented with the Sacred Universe Award by The Well Spirituality Center. Given annually to leaders in the field whose work and life foster mutually enhancing human-Earth relationships, recent recipients include Drew Dellinger, Ilia Delio, Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim.
