We belong to such an amazing interconnected Universe that reveals a God beyond our imagination, yet intimately woven into the fabric of our beings and the spaces between us. An experience I had yesterday deepens my gratitude for this.
I had one of those days when I left work with more on my desk than I had to do at the beginning of my day. Tired and creatively exhausted I headed home to walk the dog and grab a quick dinner before an evening work obligation. My sister, Mary Jo, from Connecticut called. I was lamenting about my work load and creative exhaustion telling her that we have three wonderful programs coming up next week and needed to find the words to inspire others to attend:
Our very own Kathy Sherman will be singing to us our souls’ journey on Monday night, March 27, with her mystical insights and new musical compositions.
On Thursday night, March 30, Mary Southard will lead us in Visio Divina: an encounter with The Holy through beholding an image.
And lastly, on Saturday, April 1, our special guest speaker, Mary Ellen Sheehan, IHM, will help us explore the relationship between current scientific narrative and what it means for us today as followers of Christ and citizens of our world.
I woke this morning to an email from Mary Jo containing this guest blog. Truly, as science invites us to understand, the whole is in every part. In this case the creativity I was asking for was offered through Mary Jo Romano. Here it is. Enjoy and please consider joining us for what promises to be an inspirational week at The Well.
I don’t know about you, but even with this winter being relatively mild (I shoveled way less than previous years!), I have been eagerly awaiting spring and the transformation it brings. The rebirth. The newness.
Yet, here I am at the gateway of this seasonal transformation, and I am unsettled. My body mirrors the untimely chill in the air. I ache and feel out of balance. I feel a level of uncertainty. I’m finding it difficult to center myself. To stick with my regimen of wellness.bulbs
When I look at my earth I see a reflection. I wondered if the flowers that emerged boldly, only to be blanketed with immense snow, died. Would the late winter storm have killed them? Would they remember to be reborn? And then I woke this morning and saw this.
We all need reminders in our life. When we were in doubt. When we forget our place. When we forget the miracles. When we wonder if this transformation is really going to happen.
