Season of Creation: Urban Chicago Pilgrimage
We will Pilgrimage to Markham as we hear about the stone which underlies Chicago to New York. In Markham we will meet with the Director of Nordson Green Earth, a forestation project affecting health, temperature and violence protection for inner cities. We will then arrive at Just Roots Farm, a community garden on the site of St. James Church, addressing food insufficiency in Chicago, supplying food to the St. James Food Pantry and contributing to treating diabetes through the Fresh Food Farmacy initiative, supplying fresh produce to various Emergency Rooms. Here the director will explain the need and gift of one of the largest food pantries in Chicago. Then on to 31st St. Beach where we will hear about the gift and crisis of the Great Lakes. Returning to La Grange we will Pilgrimage through the Property (explained above: Sept 3 and 4), closing prayer and end with local refreshments.

Bring Own Bag Lunch and water bottle. A picnic will be held on the bus as we learn.
