Season of Creation: Stickney Water Reclamation Plant

This pilgrimage will take us to one of the Metropolitan Chicago Water Reclamation Sites where over 5 million people are served. At this treatment Center (one of the largest in the world), we will learn how flood is mitigated, and wastewater is converted into valuable resources: clean water, phosphorus, fertilizers, biosolids and biogas. This tour involves walking and standing. We will travel to several locations at the facility on a bus. We will be outside part of the time rain or shine. Folks must wear long slacks and have close-toed shoes.
