Season of Creation: Protecting Our Waters at SCARCE
This fun, hands-on STEM program will help individuals discover eco-friendly practices for protecting our precious waterways. Participants will learn about water pollution and real-world sources of contamination through judicious application of cocoa powder and Kool-Aid to an interactive watershed problems model, followed by a rainstorm to see what happens to everything that was placed on the surface. After that, participants will interact with a solutions model to see preventative methods for avoiding the pollution from occurring in the first place. Everyone, regardless of age, will learn something from this impactful program and leave feeling empowered with the knowledge of how to protect and conserve this essential natural resource.
