Poetry for Our Souls

October 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Series (See All)

We all need to take time for reflection and savoring. Poetry leads us into “the heights and depths” of human life: its ecstasy, poignancy, faith, wonder, humor, grief, love. These evenings as we read special poems together, our souls will touch the Holy Mystery that holds us all.

Both evenings we will reflect on poems together from across time and cultures. From the psalmist David to the contemplative Joyce Rupp, from the zesty Hafiz to the earth-lover Mary Oliver, from the thinker Rilke to the prophet Maya Angelou. And more! Copies of poems will be emailed ahead. And if you would like, have in hand a poem you have found meaningful or a poem you have written.

Facilitator Miriam Brown, OP, is a Sinsinawa Dominican whose years of study, reflection, and ministry have enriched her sense of “God Alive” in each precious person, in the world’s spiritual traditions, and in our rich and ragged unfolding as a human, earth, and cosmic community.  She is a retreat facilitator and spiritual guide.

Tuesdays, October 6th and October 20th, 2026, 6:30pm-8:00pm CST via ZOOM
Cost: $60
Cost includes both sessions.
