Lenten Witness: The Role of Faith in Turbulent Times

Join us this Lent for an evening of reflection, witness, and hope with Fr. Larry Dowling, Fr. Gary Graf, and Rev. Michael Woolf. Each of these ministers has long been engaged in the work of justice, accompaniment, and advocacy throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond, walking closely with communities most impacted by injustice. In response to the ongoing and deeply troubling attacks on immigrant families in the United States, Fr. Larry, Fr. Gary, and Rev. Michael have felt called to renewed and courageous action. Their ministries have spurred them to advocate for meaningful immigration reform, to publicly protest the inhumane treatment of our immigrant neighbors, and to support concrete efforts toward peace, justice, and reconciliation rooted in faith.
This Lenten program will offer participants an opportunity to hear directly from these faith leaders about their work, the moral and spiritual foundations that guide their advocacy, and the darkness and light they encounter along the way. The evening will also include time for prayer and reflection, inviting us to consider how the call to justice is central to our own Lenten journey and our responsibility in co-creating the world of which we wish to be part. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue and ask questions, fostering a deeper communal discernment about how we, as people of faith, are called to respond in this moment. All are welcome to join us for this Lenten gathering as we listen, pray, and seek paths forward together.
Thursday, March 26th at 6:30-8pm CST
