Climate Café with Sr. Karina Conrad

June 25 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Lately, many of us are finding it harder to catch our breath. There is so much to tend to. From the heartbreak of ongoing war and humanitarian crises to social unrest, political uncertainty, and the intensifying climate emergency, Our news feeds are filled with events that can leave us feeling numb, overwhelmed, grief-stricken, or alone.

In recognition of the emotional weight of this moment—and how these crises often intersect—we invite you to join us in turning toward what we’re feeling, rather than away. Join us to safely share emotional responses and reactions related to the climate and environmental crisis to reduce isolation.

Facilitator: Karina Conrad, CDP, LCPC, is a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence. She is currently working as a therapist in private practice for young adults and adults around trauma, anxiety, life transitions, faith/spirituality, grief, and eco-distress.

Karina is a climate-aware therapist, who addresses the urgent psychological dimensions of the climate and ecological crisis.  She is passionate about providing a safe space for those experiencing distress and grief related to climate change.

Karina has a master’s degree in Professional Counseling & Student Affairs from Carlow University, Pittsburgh, PA.  Karina has a Climate Psychology certificate from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is a trained Climate Café facilitator and the Illinois regional coordinator with the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America.
