Native Plants Workshop and Sale

June 13 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Join The Well, the Hal Tyrrell Trailside Museum of Natural History, and Pizzo Nursery as we celebrate the beauty and strength of plants native to the prairies of Illinois. Come learn about the plants indigenous to our area and buy a few to incorporate into your garden!

Native Plant Program @ The Well Spirituality Center  

Join us for an afternoon of native plant ID, various plant artifacts, garden tips, as well as information on the insects and animals our native plants support. 

About Trailside Museum
Trailside Museum is one of six nature centers across The Forest Preserves of Cook County and has been serving the public since 1932. Located on a floodplain wetland in the River Forest community of Thatcher Woods, Trailside Museum offers free educational nature-based programs, exhibits, events, displays, outdoor nature recreation activities, and much more about the various native plants and animals that live with us in Cook County’s woodlands. 

We will be offering plants for purchase as well! Available varieties:

Allium cernuum (known as nodding onion or lady’s leek)
Echinacea purpurea (known as Purple coneflower)
Symphyotrichum oolentangiense (known as Sky Blue Aster)
